  • “A particularly gifted marauder through space and time is the virtuosic Jon Gower, whose heady combinations of fantasy, travel and touches of postmodernism in texts such as Y Storïwr and Dala’r Llanw ensure that his readers never know what to expect from one work to the next.”

The Cambridge History of Welsh Literature

  • “Remarkable. Lively … Gower writes beautifully [and] the book is profoundly popular.”

    Times Literary Supplement

  • “The book equivalent of being hosted by a travelling storyteller around a fire.”
